Illegal storage and dumping of 128 round logs of A-2 class timber measuring approximately 108.434 cubic meters near J. Munnomjang Village without any valid permit or authorization, in violation of Section 41(2)(b) of the Indian Forest Act, 1927, as amended by the Indian Forest (Manipur Amendment) Act, 2018, and Rule 37(3) of the Manipur Forest Rules, 2021.

During a regular patrolling operation along the Indo–Myanmar border area on 2nd November, 2025, a team of staff from the Moreh Range detected several round logs of timber lying unattended near J. Munnomjang Village. Upon verification, the timbers were identified as A-2 class, totalling 128 round logs with an approximate volume of 108.434 cubic meters. The detailed description of the seized timbers is furnished in the Seizure Memo attached herewith.
On inquiry, no individual or party claimed ownership of the said timbers, and no valid documents or permits authorizing their possession or transportation were produced. Consequently, the logs were formally seized and placed under the custody of the Range Forest Officer, Moreh Range, Tengnoupal Forest Division.
In connection with the above, a Preliminary Offence Report (POR) was registered against unknown offenders under Section 41(2)(b) of the Indian Forest Act, 1927, as amended by the Indian Forest (Manipur Amendment) Act, 2018, and Rule 37(3) of the Manipur Forest Rules, 2021
