Illegal transportation of Timber- Teak round logs (7 nos.), Ucham round logs- C class (12 nos.), Khangra round logs- A1 class (6 nos.)

On 6th May, 2021, a team of Assam Rifles lead by Major Slash Kumar Singh of 16th AR, Somrei Post were on regular patrolling duty around the Khoiripok area. At about 7:30 am the team spotted 2 (two) trucks loaded with timber logs, so the team stopped the truck on ground of suspicion. The 2 trucks was loaded with timber round logs with regd no. MN04A 9118 (7 round logs of Teak -Special and 12 round logs of Ucham - C class) and regd no. MN04A 5206 (6 round logs of Khangra- A1 class) driven by Mr. Thokchom Joykumar Singh and Mr. Kaisom Nando Singh respectively without any valid legal documents.Hence, the timber along with the truck were seized and was handed over to Range Forest Officer, Kasom Khullen Range. Accordingly POR was regd under RFO/Kasom Khullen Range and further forwarded to DFO/ Kamjong for necessary legal proceeding

Arrested the 2 (two) accused and seized the timber- Teak round logs (7 nos.), Ucham round logs- C class (12 nos.), Khangra round logs- A1 class (6 nos.) along with the truck with regd no. MN04A 9118 and MN04A 5206
