Illegal excavation of hill earth from Nongmaiching Reserved Forest

Patrolling team of Nongmaiching Range while on patrolling in and around the Nongmaiching Reserved Forest found one excavator excavating hill earth and two nos of white dumper trucks loaded with stone obtained from the excavation at Bora Achiba near Nongpok Achiba. The offenders were apprehended along with vehicles and were to be brought to Division office Mantripukhri for further legal procedures but unfortunately the attempt of seizure was overpowered and captured by some unknown armed group forcibly at around 4:30 pm.Moreover this act of forceful seizure was not only constitutes a severe breach of law but also hampers the efforts of forest officials in preventing and controlling forest offences
